To ensure that our customers are able to operate and maintain their Airbus Helicopters aircraft in top-flight condition, AHZA has established a fully-equipped and SACAA-approved training centre for pilots, technicians and ground crew at its Grand Central Airport base in Midrand, South Africa.


Maintenance Training

Technician training, including recurrent instruction, is available for the Airbus Helicopters range of light helicopters, including the H125 and its engine. There are two kinds of 1st line maintenance training courses:

  • Airframe (10 days)

  • Engine (5 days)

Pilot Training

Pilot training covers Airbus Helicopter type conversions for holders of current helicopter pilot licenses. For pilot training, there are three (3) courses available :

Ground school training

  • H125; H130: (4 days)

  • H135: (7 days)

  • H145 VFR Type Rating (10 Days Theoretical, 9+1 Flight Hours)

In Flight Training

  • 5 hours training spread over 3 days.

  • 2 sorties per day with the trainee

* All course durations is indicative and subject to changes, according to the trainees experience

Simulator training

A full flight Super Puma/AS332L1 simulator, is located in Kempton Park and can be operated under dry lease in accordance with the customers requirements.
